This exceptional first floor apartment is located just a 5 minute walk from the
famous Lord Street shopping centre with its Victorian heritage. Located in a
quiet street, the property provides the perfect opportunity for a relaxed short
break holiday in a town which has undergone a significant number of
improvements in recent years.
Southport continues to attract considerable investment and in the next year
there will be two new boutique hotels opening in the Town Centre in readiness
for the Open Golf Championship in July 2008. Meanwhile, just a pleasant 50
minute train journey will bring you to Liverpool (the European Capital of
Culture 2008).
Southport is famous for its many Championship standard golf courses, including
the legendary Royal Birkdale which has hosted the Ryder Cup as well as the Open
Championship. Southport & Ainsdale has also hosted the Ryder Cup with
many other venues, such as Formby and Hesketh being used as final qualifier
locations for the Open or top amateur competitions.
Southport Pier has recently been refurbished as has much of the promenade. The
coast attracts many migrating birds and its parks are very special. The new
Splashworld facility (opened July 2007) is a great attraction for the younger
members of the family. Pitch & Putt, rowing, Paddle Boat rides,
multi-screen cinema, Ten pin bowling, and other attractions are all available
within a short walk of the apartment.
The apartment is also handy for a wide variety of bars and restaurants offering
a range of food including typical pub grub, Chinese, Indian and Italian cuisine.
